What is it?
Author-submitted bad art for the whole world to see.
Why submit your bad art?
1. Because bad art is sometimes closer to great art than good art.
2. To let go of it.
3. To crawl out from under all the crushing perfection.
4. To have a good laugh being laughed at.
5. It’s the one place where the prospect of your piece being rejected is actually a good thing.
To put my money where my mouth is, listen:
Out of the Day by a very young, naive Norman Coady
(“Out of the Day” is a song I recorded around the tender age of 21 (back in 93) on a four track recorder – a song influenced by the Velvet Underground, vividly detailing the lethargy that came from shooting heroin in the afternoon – this coming from a guy who on a steady diet of cheetos and diet coke, not smack. At the same time, listening to it, I recall how enthralled I was to the art of making music — simply amazed to be multi-tracking in the first place — and really, really happy – Enjoy!)
Rules!
1. Must (of course) be your own art.
2. Must be completed when you were 18 or older (extra point for recent bad art!).
3. Can be most anything – video, song, play, poem, essay, novel, short story, piece of clothing, architectural drawing, concept for utopian community.
4. No anonymous postings! It’s time to come clean, people.
So start digging into your art treasure troves for that particularly embarrassing song, poem, painting or story.

XOXOXO,
Norman Coady
